Can Cordyceps be farmed?

In short, absolutely! Cordyceps can be farmed. There are impressive facilities dedicated to Cordyceps production in China, South Korea, India, and other Eastern countries. The United States is lagging behind, but there are some Cordyceps cultivation facilities here too. Bffd is one of the few Cordyceps militaris cultivation facilities in the United States. Most of the Cordyceps cultivation we've seen in the U.S. is recreational and on a smaller scale.

Part of the Bffd mission is to make the great benefits of Cordyceps more known and widely accessible. We've heard there's a stigma of "gatekeeping" information within the U.S. Cordyceps cultivation community. In our mission to make quality Cordyceps more accessible in the United States, we want to ensure that as much quality cultivation information is available as possible. To achieve this, we set up the Bffd Cordyceps Skool community, where we offer a beginner cultivation course and will post daily updates on what we are doing at Bffd. These daily updates will include:

  • The genetics/strains we are growing
  • Our yield results
  • The number of bins/containers of Cordyceps we are running
  • What we are learning as we continue cultivating Cordyceps daily
  • Research on Cordyceps that we find or conduct
  • Whatever else is prevalent to what we are doing at Bffd

The goal of this community is to bring together a group of growers and Cordyceps enthusiasts to share the best cultivation practices and advance Cordyceps cultivation in the United States. Although there will be a paid tier for serious growers, providing access to custom Cordyceps growth software, specialized growth data, private consultations, possible future monetization opportunities with Bffd, and other perks, we will start with a free tier dedicated to information sharing about Cordyceps.

The free tier will also allow you to interact with Adam, the lead Bffd Cordyceps grower; Johnny, the Bffd president and lead Cordyceps researcher; and other Cordyceps fans and cultivators in the Bffd Skool community. You will have opportunities to participate in events and earn discounts on Bffd products by engaging with our community.

We’ll keep this post short because Adam has put together a great beginner's course on the A-Z of Cordyceps cultivation. Once you sign up for our Skool community, you'll be able to watch the entire cultivation course free of charge, interact with us, and continuously follow along with what we are learning as we dive deep into the world of Cordyceps.

We are not claiming to be the ultimate authority on Cordyceps cultivation. We've been cultivating this mushroom on a medium/large scale for over two years and want to contribute to advancing U.S. Cordyceps cultivation to the next level. Our goal is to learn from other cultivators and share what has been working for us.

As a teaser, here is the first video from the Bffd Cordyceps cultivation course:

If you have any questions or feedback on the course, you can reach out to us on our Skool community.
